It is a branch of medicine that deals with the study, detection, prevention, and therapy of diseases, disorders and conditions of the oral cavity. Advance technology have been developed and it helps in dealing with the prevention or treatment of diseases of the teeth, gums, and oral cavity, any correction or removal of deteriorate, deface,or malformed parts, and the replacement of lost structures. The field of dentistry is constantly developing and changing to best suit patient needs. Dentistry field have seen a constant improvements with respect to advancement from the traditional techniques to the digital world that has widened the scope of dental treatments and procedures. Some of the Digital dentistry tools and techniques which are used at present are, the Laser applications, different types of dental implants and occlusal analysis, Dental radiography, Robotic and Imaging techniques for the craniofacial hard tissues and soft tissues.

Session 02 : Digital impressions
Digital impression is one of the latest innovation in dental technology. The University of Zurich introduced the original CEREC machine in 1980. It was the first to use digital impression technology to scan and view a patient's oral cavity. One of the great challenges in scanning an impression is the technology's is ability to see inside the voids that the teeth have created in the impression material. Many previous model scanners are unable to see inside these voids because the angle between the light source and the camera is too high. In order to view the clear impressions, the manufacturers decreased the angle between the light source and the camera, by giving them a better view inside those cavity. Due to their size, intraoral scanners have highly condensed optics and adapt quite well to scanning impressions.

Session 03 : Advanced imaging in smile design
The Digital Smile Design Concept (DSD) is a multi-step treatment and the planning protocol was first created by Dr. Christian Coachman, a Brazilian Dentist and Ceramist. DSD can be utilized in imaging technology, resin model .It is a computer software to generate a comprehensive picture of the patient’s teeth and oral structures. This innovative imaging system uprise the pre-treatment experience and allows for higher dental precision and accuracy than ever before. The primary benefits of utilizing the DSD Studio is the ability to help patients to visualize the outcome of their cosmetic or reconstructive procedure. DSD is a great way to amplify the planning of both simple and complex procedures, from cosmetic bonding to a Smile Face lift.

Session 04 : Orthodontics
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with better teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly. Hooked teeth and teeth that do not fit together correctly are harder to keep clean, and those are at risk of being lost early due to tooth decay and periodontal disease, and it may cause extra stress on the chewing muscles that can lead to headaches. Teeth that are crooked will not be in right place and it also devaluate from one's appearance. The main advantage of this treatment also include, healthier mouth, a more pleasing appearance, and teeth that appear to be long lasting . Orthodontics specifically focuses on the alignment of the teeth and the dental arches, especially the maxilla and the mandible. The main practice for this specialty includes diagnosis, prevention, interception, and correction of malocclusion and other abnormalities of the developing or mature orofacial structures.

Session 05 : 3D Imaging
A dental 3D image allows dentist to view tooth anatomy from different angles. 3D scan helps to gain a better view of bone structures, such as adjacent root positions, in order to locate canals and root fractures, as well as it provide the ability to measure the anatomical structures more accurately. These 3D scan also carry a wide range of identification, treatment and planning, making them distinctly flexible. As techniques become more advanced, 3D models become more accurate. Thus the technology becomes more readily available, The first method of using this technique called slicing. Thus, the method is used more often in dental diagnosis, treatment planning and construction of dental appliances such as dental implants, orthodontics, denture bases and bite guards. The second method is used is called CNC milling. In this case, the complete digital image is transferred to a milling machine. Thus the machine then dice the new 3D physical model using the material

The important role of the forensic odontologist is to built a person’s identity like Teeth, with their physiologic variations and persons abnormal condition. Those information should be recorded and that remains throughout life and forever as a evidence. The application on dental knowledge to those criminal and civil laws that are enforced by police agencies in a criminal justice system. Forensic dentists are involved in assisting investigative agencies to identify recovered human remains in addition to the identification of whole or fragmented bodies. The dental pulp is a segment of the dentin-pulp complex . The pulp act as a neuro vascular bundle central to each of the tooth. It compose of three different classes, central pulp chamber, pulp horns and radicular canals. The Pulp acts as a security alarm system for a tooth. If there any slight decay in tooth structure the dentin may not get that alarm signal ,but as the dentin gets exposed, either due to dental caries or trauma, sensitivity starts and it starts signaling.
